Is hipages worth it for Perth roofers and solar installers?

It can be. But each lead goes to up to three tradies, the plans run on credits, and you sign up for six months that renew for twelve. Here is what a hipages lead costs in dollars, what each job you win really costs, and when it pays for a roofing or solar business in Perth.

The short answer. hipages is worth it when three things are true: your jobs are big enough that a few lost quotes don't matter, you can reply within minutes even from a roof, and what you pay per job you win is a small slice of what the job leaves you. It is hard to make pay when most of your leads are small repairs, when you ring back at night, or when you are carrying a 12-month renewal you never planned for.

How hipages works for tradies in 2026

Homeowners post a job. Tradies on a monthly plan spend credits to accept the jobs they want, and each job can be accepted by up to three tradies.[1][3] It is big: hipages reports 33,000 tradie members and more than 100,000 jobs posted every month across Australia.[2]

hipages plans, as KingTradie reports them from hipages' pricing page
PlanPer month, ex GSTCredits a monthPostcodesUnused credits roll over
Starter$13915511 month
Advanced$24931031 month
Premium$44959552 months
Platinum$649850102 months

Three terms matter more than the price, all as KingTradie reports them from hipages' pricing page and its Tradie Terms:[1]

  • Every plan starts on a six-month introductory term, then renews automatically for 12 months at a time.
  • Cancelling mid-term can make the remaining fees fall due. You can pause once for 14 to 31 days on the introductory term, or up to 62 days in total on a 12-month term.
  • Credits expire after their one- or two-month rollover, used or not. Run out mid-month and top-up packs sit on top of the plan price.

What a hipages lead costs in dollars

hipages does not publish a fixed price per lead. A lead costs credits, and the number of credits moves with demand. One hipages member on ProductReview reports their average lead rising from 42 to 75 credits, with single leads running 75 to 120 credits.[1][3] Divide each plan's price by its credits and you get what those leads cost in dollars:

A hipages lead in dollars, by plan (ex GST, top-ups not counted)

42 credits$38$34$32$32
75 credits$67$60$57$57
120 credits$108$96$91$92

So $249 a month on Advanced buys roughly four 75-credit leads. That only holds if you use every credit: credits that expire unused push the real price of each lead up.

What each job you win really costs

The lead price is the wrong number to judge it on. What matters is what you pay per job you actually win, because up to two other tradies are quoting on every lead.

Take the Advanced plan at four leads a month. Win one in five and that is a job roughly every five weeks, at about $300 a job. Win one in three and it is about $180 a job. Same plan, same leads; the only thing that changed is how many you won. For a $10,500 re-roof, either figure is small.[6] For a $300 leak repair, neither works.

Put your own month in: the plan plus any top-ups, the leads you accepted, and the jobs they turned into. Open the lead cost calculator with the Advanced plan already filled in, then change each number to yours.

Is hipages good for roofers in Perth?

It depends on what the leads are. A Perth roofing job can be a $260 to $840 leak repair or a $10,500 to $26,250 re-roof,[6] and a shared platform sends you both at a similar credit price. A diary full of small repairs at $60 a lead, shared three ways, rarely pays. One re-roof a month usually covers the plan many times over.

Timing matters as much. Most of Perth's rain falls between May and September,[9] and the first heavy rain is when every leaking roof posts at once. That is also when you are up on a roof and cannot ring anyone back. On a shared lead, the roofer who replies first is usually the one who gets to quote, so speed decides more of your hipages results than the plan you are on.

Solar installers: hipages or SolarQuotes?

For solar and batteries, SolarQuotes is the specialist, and its model is simpler to judge.

How you payMonthly plan of $139 to $649 ex GST, loaded with credits[1]Per lead, ex GST: $60 residential solar, $55 batteries, $185 commercial[4]
Who else gets the leadUp to three tradies[3]A maximum of three installers[4]
ContractSix months, then 12-month renewals[1]None, and no minimum spend[4]

On the maths, solar leads often pay: a $60 lead won one time in four is $240 a job against a 6.6 kW system worth $4,200 to $7,500.[7] The catch is the same on both platforms. SolarQuotes requires installers to follow up every lead within one business day,[4] and two other installers are calling the same household. The one who replies in minutes, and chases the quote a week later, wins more of them.

hipages vs ServiceSeeking, and what happened to Oneflare

  • ServiceSeeking charges a membership, from $129 a month including GST for most members, priced by trade and area. Members in range quote on the same job. You can cancel online, but prepaid periods are not refunded.[5]
  • Oneflare closed on 30 June 2026, and oneflare.com.au now redirects to Airtasker.[8] If you were on it, your old Oneflare numbers are the benchmark: work out what each job cost you there before you pick a replacement.
  • Your own Google Ads cost more per enquiry, but nobody else gets the lead, and you choose the jobs: pay for re-roofing and battery searches, not gutter cleans. Where Perth Google Ads budgets usually leak.

Before you cancel hipages

Run your numbers first, then check four things in your own agreement and account:

  1. Where you are in the term. On the introductory six months or a 12-month renewal? Cancelling mid-term can make the remaining fees fall due.[1]
  2. When it renews. Put the renewal date in your calendar a month ahead, so the decision is yours and not the auto-renewal's.
  3. Whether a pause fits better. A quiet month may only need the 14 to 31 day pause on the introductory term, or up to 62 days on a 12-month term.[1]
  4. The credits you still hold. They expire after their rollover window, so use them before you go.

hipages' own help centre and your Tradie Terms have the exact cancellation steps for your plan. Terms change, so treat this page as the checklist, not the contract.

How to make shared leads pay

If you stay, the plan matters less than four habits:

  1. Reply in minutes, not hours. Three tradies get the lead; the first reply is usually the one in the conversation. A text back inside a minute does that while you are on a roof.
  2. Qualify before you drive. Ask what the job is, where, and when they want it done, before you lose half a morning on a tenant who cannot approve the work.
  3. Chase every quote. Day 2, day 7 and day 21. Plenty of quotes go quiet only because nobody asks again. How quote follow-up works.
  4. Track cost per job won, monthly. Plan and top-ups divided by jobs won. If it climbs three months running, that is your answer.

Or leads that are only yours

The alternative to sharing leads is owning them. We run Google Ads in your own account for the work you want, answer every enquiry inside a minute, chase the quiet ones, and book the estimates into your diary, for established roofing, solar and air con businesses in Perth and Peel. Winning the job is yours. Your first 8 booked estimates are free. How it works for roofers and solar installers.

Frequently asked questions

Is hipages worth it for tradies?
It can be, when your jobs are big enough that a few lost quotes don't matter, you reply within minutes, and what you pay per job won is a small slice of what each job leaves you. Work it out from last month: the plan plus any top-ups, divided by the jobs those leads actually turned into.
How much does hipages cost per month?
In 2026 the four plans are $139, $249, $449 and $649 a month plus GST (Starter, Advanced, Premium and Platinum), each loaded with credits you spend to accept leads, as KingTradie reports them from hipages' pricing page. Top-up credit packs cost extra.
How much does a hipages lead cost?
hipages doesn't publish a fixed price per lead. Leads cost credits, and one member reports 42 to 120 credits a lead. At the plan prices that works out to roughly $32 to $108 a lead before GST, depending on the plan and the lead, if every credit gets used.
How many tradies get the same hipages lead?
Up to three. hipages' own reply to a reviewer on ProductReview says each lead can be accepted by up to three tradies.
Can you cancel hipages at any time?
Check your term first. Plans start on a six-month introductory term and then renew for 12 months at a time, and cancelling mid-term can make the remaining fees fall due, according to KingTradie's reading of hipages' Tradie Terms. A pause of 14 to 31 days on the introductory term, or up to 62 days on a 12-month term, may suit a quiet patch better.
Is hipages good for roofers?
It depends on the job mix and how fast you reply. A Perth roofing lead can be a $260 leak repair or a $26,000 re-roof, at a similar credit price. Small repairs shared three ways rarely pay; one re-roof a month usually covers the plan many times over. On a shared lead, the roofer who replies first usually gets to quote.
Is hipages or SolarQuotes better for solar installers?
SolarQuotes is simpler to judge: $60 ex GST per residential solar lead, a maximum of three installers, a 7-day reject for a full refund, and no contract. hipages runs on a monthly plan with credits and a six-month term. Compare both on cost per job won, not cost per lead.
Are hipages leads fake?
Some tradies reviewing hipages on ProductReview and Trustpilot say some of their leads weren't genuine, such as homeowners only collecting prices. Every lead platform gets some of that. The protection is the same anywhere: reply fast, qualify with a question or two before you drive out, and track cost per job won so you know whether the platform pays overall.
