For years Oneflare was one of the places a Perth homeowner went to find a builder, a tiler or a kitchen fitter, and one of the places a renovator paid for credits to quote. It closed on 30 June 2026. If part of your work came from it, that work now has to come from somewhere else. This guide compares the replacements on their published prices, covers the channel that costs nothing, and shows where most renovators lose more jobs than any platform sends them: in the days after the quote goes out.
The short version
- Oneflare closed on 30 June 2026. The website and app redirect to Airtasker, which bought it in 2022.[1][3]
- The paid replacements charge in four different ways: Airtasker takes 12.5% to 20% of each task you win; hipages is $139 to $649 a month plus GST; What’s The Damage is from $25 a lead or $250 a month for a territory; ServiceSeeking is from $129 a month including GST.[4][5][6][7]
- Google Local Services Ads are not offered in Australia. Your Google Business Profile is free, and reviews feed how it ranks.[8][9]
- Speed wins quotes. In Buildxact’s March 2026 data across its builder users, estimates sent within 2 days won 32% of the time. In its Australian-only data from 2021, renovation estimates were won 18 to 19% of the time.[10][11]
- Judge every source on cost per job won, not cost per lead. Against a Perth bathroom at $10,500 to $36,750, most of these are cheap. They only pay if you win the quotes.[12]
What closed, and when
Airtasker bought Oneflare in May 2022 and ran it as a sister brand.[3] In 2026 it decided to retire Oneflare and focus only on Airtasker. The last day was 30 June 2026. After that, the Oneflare website and mobile app were redirected to Airtasker.[1] We checked on 20 October 2026: oneflare.com.au still forwards to airtasker.com, and Oneflare’s own closure notice now opens on Airtasker’s support site.
The run-down for businesses went like this.[2]
- 1 June 2026: auto-renewals switched off, so nobody was charged again on the way out.
- 21 May to 30 June 2026: businesses that moved to Airtasker were offered no service fees, and their Oneflare review rating carried across.
- Credits: members were told to use existing credits as normal until the shutdown. KingTradie found no published terms for credits still unspent after that. If you held some, put the question to Airtasker support in writing.
Two things went with the platform: your Oneflare profile, and any reviews not carried to Airtasker. The customers did not go anywhere. Every client you won through Oneflare is in your invoices, and they are the cheapest renovation leads you will find this year. More on them below.
The options compared, on published prices
These are the prices each business publishes or that an independent page has checked, as at October 2026. Two of the sources sell leads themselves, and the table says which. Your own contract is the final word on your numbers.
| Option | How you pay | Who else gets the job | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airtasker | A service fee of 12.5% to 20% of the task price, plus tax, taken only when you are assigned the task[4] | Any Tasker can make an offer; the customer picks | Your tier sets the fee, and the breakdown shows on every offer before you commit[4] |
| hipages | $139, $249, $449 or $649 a month plus GST, loaded with credits you spend to accept leads[5] | Up to three businesses[5] | Six-month first term, then 12-month rollovers; prices rose in July 2026[5] |
| What’s The Damage | From $25 a lead, or $250 a month for every lead in your trade and city[6] | At most two tradies a lead; nobody else on a territory[6] | No contract, first territory month free. One tradie per trade per city: Perth bathroom renovation was already taken on 8 October 2026[6] |
| ServiceSeeking | Membership from $129 a month including GST for most members[7] | Members covering that job can quote | Priced by competition in your trade and a 10, 20 or 50 km radius; 20% off quarterly, 40% off annually[7] |
| Google Local Services Ads | Not available in Australia[8] | n/a | Google lists eleven countries, and Australia is not one of them[8] |
| Your Google Business Profile | Free | Nobody; the enquiry comes to you | Ranks on relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews count toward prominence[9] |
Airtasker is where Oneflare’s homeowners were sent, so it is the obvious first look. Its fee is a share of the job, not a lead price. That suits a $400 day of patching and painting. On a full renovation it adds up: at the published 12.5% to 20%, a $20,000 job carries $2,500 to $4,000 in fees, before tax. Check the breakdown Airtasker shows on the offer before you quote anything large through it.[4]
hipages is the biggest of the subscription platforms. Its monthly plan is loaded with credits, each lead costs credits, and up to three businesses can take the same job.[5] We have a separate page on whether hipages is worth it, with the cost per lead worked out by plan and the contract terms to check before you cancel.
What’s The Damage is a cost-guide site that also sends jobs to tradies, so its prices come from its own page. The territory model is the one that suits a renovator: every lead in your trade and city for a flat $250 a month. But there is one territory per trade per city, so check yours is still free before planning around it.[6]
ServiceSeeking prices by your trade and how far you will travel, so ask for your own quote. The $129 is the lower end for most members, not a flat rate.[7]
The test for all of them is the same. Take a month’s spend and divide it by the jobs it actually turned into. Renovation work is forgiving: a Perth bathroom runs $10,500 to $36,750 and a kitchen $12,600 to $84,000.[12][13] So $249 a month that wins one bathroom is under 2.5% of even the cheapest job. The same $249 that wins nothing is $249 gone. What decides which of those you get is mostly what happens after the lead arrives.
Google Business Profile and reviews: the free channel
Before you pay any platform, fix the one listing you own outright. Google says local results rest on three things: relevance (how well your profile matches the search), distance (how far you are from the searcher) and prominence (how well known you are). The number of reviews you have and your ratings count toward prominence, and Google recommends replying to them.[9]
For a renovator in Perth, that turns into a short list:
- Use the most specific category Google offers for the work you want most, and add your other renovation services underneath it.
- Set your service area to the suburbs you actually work, not the whole metro area. Relevance and distance do the rest.
- Post finished-job photos with the suburb in the description: a Baldivis ensuite or a Rockingham kitchen, not “another happy customer”.
- Ask every finished client for a review, with a direct link, the day you hand over. Reply to every review, good and bad, in a sentence or two.
- Answer the phone the profile rings, or text back within a minute when you cannot. A profile that ranks and then rings out is free leads thrown away.
Our free Google Business Profile audit scores your listing against these in a couple of minutes.
Win more of the quotes you already send
Every source above sends you a lead and then stops. Whether it becomes a job is up to you, and the data on that is consistent.
Buildxact, the estimating software, published its State of the Customer report in March 2026. Estimates sent to clients within 2 days had a 32% win rate, and after 2 days the win rate kept falling at a steady rate.[10] That is Buildxact’s own customer data across the countries it sells in, not an Australia-only study, so treat it as a direction rather than a promise. The Australian baseline is older. In Buildxact’s Australian data for January to June 2021, renovation estimates were won at an adjusted 18 to 19%, and new builds at 16%.[11] Put those side by side and the message is plain: the typical renovation quote loses about four times in five, and the quick ones do much better.
Three things move that number without buying a single extra lead:
- Answer every enquiry, including the ones that ring while you are on the tools. On a shared lead the first reply usually gets the site visit. A text back within a minute of a missed call holds the job until you can ring. If you are weighing a person to answer instead, here is what an answering service costs Australian tradies.
- Get the quote out inside two days, then follow it up. A renovation quote is a big decision and it goes quiet for ordinary reasons. A short follow-up on day 2, 7 and 21 brings back the ones that were waiting on a partner, a bank or a second price.
- Text past clients once a season. Everyone you renovated for through Oneflare, hipages or word of mouth is still on your books. One relevant text, with your business named and a working opt-out, is legal under the Spam Act and is the cheapest job you will book. The customer reactivation guide has the consent rule and templates.
That is the work we do, and only that. Flat Out Automations does not sell leads. We set up the missed-call text back, the quote follow-up and the past-client texts on the enquiries you already get, from whichever platform or profile they come. Setup is $999 for our first three founding clients, then $1,500, plus $197 a month, and your first 8 booked estimates are free. How it works for renovation businesses is on the renovators page.
A Perth checklist for the next 30 days
- Week 1: count what Oneflare was worth. From your invoices, list the jobs that came through it in the last year and what you paid in credits. That cost per job won is the number any replacement has to beat.
- Week 1: fix your Google Business Profile. Category, service-area suburbs, ten finished-job photos, and a reply to every review you have not answered.
- Week 2: pick one paid source, not three. Match it to your jobs: a territory or pay-per-lead if you want control of spend, a subscription only if you can work a full month of leads. Read the term and renewal before you sign.[5][6][7]
- Week 2: set a ceiling. Decide the most you will pay per job won, and a date in 90 days to check it.
- Week 3: fix your reply speed. Every enquiry answered or texted within minutes, every quote out within two days.[10]
- Week 3: start following up. Every open quote gets a message on day 2, 7 and 21.
- Week 4: text past clients. One message to everyone you have renovated for, and a review request to the happy ones who never left one.
- Week 4: check the southern corridor. If you work Rockingham, Baldivis or Mandurah, see our Rockingham renovators page.
Frequently asked questions
Did Oneflare shut down?
Yes. Airtasker, which bought Oneflare in May 2022, retired it on 30 June 2026. The Oneflare website and app now redirect to Airtasker. Auto-renewals were switched off from 1 June, and businesses that moved across between 21 May and 30 June were offered no service fees and their Oneflare review rating on Airtasker.
What is the best Oneflare alternative for renovators?
There is no single best one. It depends on the size of your jobs and how fast you reply. Airtasker takes 12.5% to 20% of each task you win, which is fine on small jobs and dear on a bathroom. hipages costs $139 to $649 a month plus GST, and up to three businesses get each lead. What’s The Damage charges from $25 a lead with at most two tradies, or $250 a month for a whole trade and city. ServiceSeeking starts at $129 a month including GST. Your Google Business Profile is free and should come first whichever you pick.
Is hipages worth it for renovators?
It can be, because renovation jobs are big. A Perth bathroom runs $10,500 to $36,750, so a $249 plan that wins one bathroom a month costs under 2.5% of even the cheapest job. It stops paying when the leads are small repairs, when you reply hours later while two other businesses reply in minutes, or when you are carrying a 12-month rollover you did not plan for. Judge it on cost per job won, not cost per lead.
What happened to my Oneflare credits and reviews?
Businesses that moved to Airtasker between 21 May and 30 June 2026 were offered their Oneflare review rating on Airtasker. Oneflare told members they could use existing credits as normal until the shutdown. We could not find published terms for credits left unspent after 30 June, so if you held any, ask Airtasker support in writing.
Are Google Local Services Ads available in Australia?
Not as of October 2026. Google’s Local Services Ads help centre covers eleven countries, including the US, the UK and Canada, and Australia is not one of them. The Australian address for the product redirects to ordinary Google Ads. For Google, a Perth renovator’s options are a Business Profile, which is free, and search ads in your own account.
Does Flat Out Automations sell renovation leads?
No. We do not sell leads. We work on the enquiries you already get: a text back within a minute when you miss a call, quote follow-up on day 2, 7 and 21, and a once-a-season text to past clients. Setup is $999 for our first three founding clients, then $1,500, plus $197 a month, and your first 8 booked estimates are free.
