A standard Perth pool is priced at $45,000 to $72,000 in fibreglass and $65,000 to $105,000 in concrete. Nobody signs that on the night of the site visit. Families take the quotes home, compare two or three, and talk it over for weeks. Some of yours go quiet while you are on a dig, and nobody asks again. We do the asking.

These are installed prices for a standard 8 by 4 metre pool in Perth, before fencing and paving. Every one of them is a quote that sits on a kitchen bench for a while.

a typical fibreglass inground
What's The Damage puts the typical Perth fibreglass inground at $65,000 installed, in a band of $50,000 to $85,000, verified October 2026. A second check on the figures. What's The Damage, Oct 2026
At those prices, most families get more than one quote, and they take their time. Some go with another builder. Some push the pool to next summer. But some were still deciding a month later, liked your design, and never heard from you again because you were on a dig in Baldivis with your phone in the ute. Those are the ones worth chasing, and they cost nothing to find. They are already in your sent folder.
Missed calls from the dig site,
texted back within a minute.
A homeowner who rings while the excavator is running does not leave a message. They ring the next builder. When you miss a call, the caller gets a text from your number within a minute asking what kind of pool, which suburb and when they want to be swimming, and the answer lands in your diary as a site visit. It is the same system as the quote follow-up, so there is nothing extra to run. The text-back itself is shown on the missed call text back page.
Follow-up that matches
how a pool gets built.
A pool goes site visit, quote, contract, building permit, build, then a compliant barrier before the water goes in. Every quote you send gets the same steady follow-up up to the contract, in your voice, from your number. It stops the moment the client replies, books or says no.
Did it arrive?
A short check that the quote came through and an offer to answer questions on the shell, the equipment or the paving. Small worries get sorted here before they turn into a no.
Day 2Like for like?
Most families have two or three quotes on the bench. We ask whether anything needs a second look, such as heating, fencing or paving, so they compare like for like and not on the headline price.
Day 7Still on the list?
Three weeks in, a plain check-in. Have they decided, put it off, or gone elsewhere? Every answer is useful, and a no closes the file cleanly.
Day 21Before your calendar fills
A last note about your next start date and how long the permit adds. If they are ready, the reply comes to you and we book the call.
Day 45for a permit decision
Once the application is in, the council has 10 business days to decide a certified application and 25 for an uncertified one. That wait is a good reason to text, not a reason to go silent. ABLIS, WA building permit
the most you can take as a deposit
On WA home building contracts between $7,500 and $500,000. Home indemnity insurance is needed for permit work worth more than $20,000, which is every standard pool. Building and Energy WA
of water means a permit
A building permit must be in effect before building any private pool or spa that will hold more than 300mm of water. City of Cockburn
most pool fences came off the permit list
Since then most pool fences do not need their own building permit. Some still do, such as a fence that is also a balustrade where people could fall a metre or more. SPASA, June 2024
After the contract, the job follows the permit. A text when the application is lodged, another when it is approved, and one when the dig is booked means the client never wonders whether you have forgotten them. At the end, the barrier has to be in place before the pool holds more than 300mm of water, and the council inspects it within 30 days of finding out the pool is finished (What's The Damage). A heads-up about that inspection is one less phone call for you.
How the sequence is built, and why it is four messages and not ten, is in the quote follow-up guide. The pool version, with wording you can copy, is in pool builder quote follow-up in Perth.
Every expo lead,
chased after February.
SPASA's Pool Spa Life Expo is held at the Claremont Showgrounds. In 2026 it ran over the Valentine's Day weekend, and SPASA reports that exhibitors had serious conversations with buyers, many of which moved on to site visits and quotes after the weekend (SPASA, February 2026).
That is the catch. You come home with a stack of names on Sunday night, the next build starts on Monday, and half the stack never hears from you. We load every expo enquiry in the week after the show and work through it: a thank-you the next day, an offer of a site visit, then the quote follow-up once you have priced it. Keep the form or sign-up sheet each person filled in at the stand, because it is your record that they asked to hear from you.
Every pool you built
gets inspected again.
WA councils must inspect the safety barrier of every private pool at intervals of no more than four years. Each of those owners will need something again, and you built their pool.

About 1.2% of WA pools were overdue for a barrier inspection, up from 0.9% a year earlier. WA Government, October 2025
We go through the pools you have finished in the last few years and contact the owners at the right time: a reminder before the council's barrier inspection comes round, a note about heating when the swimming season gets short, and a check-in on resurfacing for older concrete pools. Yakka's 20-year cost comparison allows for one resurface on a concrete pool (Yakka Labour), so it is work your past customers will need from someone.
The consent rule. A text that promotes your business is a commercial message under the Spam Act 2003, so it needs consent, your business identified and a working unsubscribe. Consent can usually be inferred from the pool you built for a client, but only for messages about that relationship. A barrier inspection reminder on the pool you built fits. Pitching a spa you have never quoted is a stretch, so we ask at handover whether the owner is happy to hear about future work, and keep the record. A bought or scraped list has no consent at all. The full rules, with templates, are in the past customer reactivation guide, and the SMS rules for business senders are in the SMS compliance guide.
Pool builder leads in Perth:
what it costs next to the platforms.
| Option | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Poolz | Per lead bought | Free to see leads, you pay for the ones you want. A lead can be bought by up to three pool businesses, and a success fee is payable if you win the job. Prices are shown after you sign up. |
| What's The Damage | $250/mo, or from $25 a lead | An exclusive territory with one pool builder per city, first month free and month to month. Or pay per lead from $25, only for the jobs you accept. |
| Quote follow-up, done for you (us) | $197/mo | Every quote you send followed up through to contract, missed calls texted back, expo and past customer lists worked. No per-lead charge. Month to month. |
A lead platform sells you a chance to quote. We do the opposite. We do not sell leads at all. We work the quotes you have already sent, where you are the builder who walked the backyard and priced the job. The two are not either-or: a lead you paid for is worth more when somebody follows the quote up.
Most pool builder marketing in Perth goes on finding new enquiries. The cheaper win is usually the quotes and customers you already have. We will not guess your margin, so run your own numbers in the lead cost calculator: what one more signed pool a quarter is worth to you, against $197 a month. For the same approach on bathrooms and kitchens, see quote follow-up for renovators.
Who we are for,
and who we are not.
Right for you if
- You run an owner-operated fibreglass or concrete pool business and quote most weeks.
- You send more quotes than you sign, and the follow-up is you, at night, when you remember.
- You have years of finished pools and have never contacted those owners again.
- You take a stand at the expo, or get its enquiries, and want every name worked.
Not for you if
- You want someone to sell you leads. We do not, and we will say so on the call.
- You are a dealer or franchisee and head office already runs your marketing and follow-up. Check what you have before paying twice.
- You want to buy software and run it yourself. The running is what we sell.
- You are booked out a year ahead on referrals alone. Your gap is elsewhere.
